History
Las Vegas Rugby Club was founded in 1976 when 5 friends put an advertisement in the local newspaper to recruit players. During the early years the club had no real affiliation with any governing organization or league. Games were only played as far away as finances permit. Over the years, L.V.R.F.C grew and became affiliated with several unions (leagues) including Arizona, Utah and most recently Division 1 in Southern California.
Over the past 33 years, L.V.R..F.C has hosted over 100 international teams from New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, Argentina and the Caribbean. Both British and American military teams from all branches of the armed forces have also visited Las Vegas Rugby Club for friendly games.
In recent years Las Vegas Rugby Club has elevated its reputation in the national rugby arena with regional and national success.
From the 2006 season Las Vegas Rugby Club has reached the National final 4 competition 3 times and in 2009 finished 2nd in the Nation.
