Las Vegas Rugby Academy 1st game went off with a bang.It was awesome to see the kids out playing and using the skills they learned from training. In the Under 7/ Under 10 the LVRA Blues took on the LVRA Chiefs. The blues were the 1st to go on the board with a from hat-trick try from Huni. The Chiefs answer with quick hands and a few side-step and pure speed as Mike score a try. A few minutes later the chief went on the board again with mike scoring a solo effort try. The halftime score was Blues 5 Chiefs 10. The 2nd half started with high turn over rates and a few contact (we playing two hand touch rugby). On a turn over the blues attack the right side of the field and then shot the ball back to the left to where Mat was waiting to score the blues try. what a great team effort. With both teams tied at 10, the blues Huni then took the ball in his own hands and score 3 solo tries to give the blues a 25-10 lead. The chiefs kept working back to score and were at the 5meter line but never was able to score. With 1 min left in the game Mike score the chiefs final score to fall short. Chiefs 15 Blues 25. great effort by both teams.

In the Under 19/Under 13 was a much faster and higher scoring. As the LVRA Hurricanes ran away from the Brumbies 60-30. In the 1st half is was all Hurricanes with 4 tries coming from Veuki and one from Sione. In the 2nd half was a little bit more even as the Brumbies started to fight back with Dallen (2 tries) and Veuki (3 tries) and craig one. Hurricanes also got tries from Ana(2 tries) Joe (4 tries) and Sione (1 try) Veuki was traded to the brumbies at halftime on a multi-dollor contact:). At the end both team played well and all enjoyed it.

Las Vegas Rugby Academy Youth League starts Tuesday 23 2010 at Sunset Park. Training starts for all teams (Under 7, Under 10, Under 13 and Under 19) at 4pm. Registration starts at 330pm - 4pm. The fee is $75.00 for the season and first game is March 6th 2010. Training are Tuesday and Thursday 4pm-6pm. We had over 80 kids turnout to the "LVRA "we dare you to TRY" rugby clinic and we look forward to those kids to continue playing the fun game of rugby. Please spread the word! We having a Youth Rugby Clinic this saturday Feb. 20th 2010 10am-12pm (sunset park). This is a make-up for the rain out clinic we had last month. See you there.

LVRA had about 40 kids show up to today's rugby clinic. Rain did not stop the kids from playing the sport the love. Next week is the IRB Las Vegas 7s Feb 13-14n 2010. Also Friday Feb. 12 2010 at 1pm-4pm at the Sam Boyd Stadium is KIDS DAY. Its free to all kids. so bring the whole family.
